Sharon Fire & Rescue was already on scene of an EMS call in the far northeastern part of our response area when dispatched to a Fully Involved Residential Structure Fire with possible people trapped. MABAS Box 40-4 was called at the time of dispatch bringing equipment from Boone FPD #1 and #3, Darien and Clinton Fire Dept.
Engine 4022 and AC 4003 responded from the station and crews responded from the EMS call. On scene crews found a moderate size 2 story farm home with heavy flame and smoke from all floors the fire had vented out all windows. With very limited staffing E4022 attacked with two handlines and E 4020 used its tank water and deck gun to help bring the raging fire undercontrol. Water Shuttle operations were initiated and Boone #1 used there pumper tanker to help suppress the fire.
Fire was under control by 23:11 and the box was struck with all companies in route to report to the scene.Crews remained on scene until 02:00 hours and left the station at 03:30 hours.
The short night of sleep was followed by four more EMS and Fire call on Saturday for 6 in 18 hours. A busy day for a small dept.
