“Training the teens of today, for the Fire and EMS Service of tomorrow”
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Sharon Fire & Rescue Explorer Post is to educate youth between the ages of fourteen and eighteen in the areas of fire and emergency medicine. It is also the goal of the post to help the youth grow as people and develop skills that will help them throughout the rest of their lives.
WHAT DO EXPLORERS DO?
Explorers have the unique opportunity to train and work with seasoned firefighters and medical professionals. Explorers will get training in the areas of fire suppression, fire prevention, rescue, motor vehicle extrication, fire scene operations, CPR, first aid, emergency medical care, station duties, NIMS & ICS, equipment and area familiarization, hazardous materials, public awareness and education programs, safety, and infectious disease control.
MEETINGS
The post normally meets the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM in the Sharon Fire House. Other meetings and trainings may be scheduled on an as needed basis.
